Trout Fishing

There can be few prettier larger waters on which to fish for Trout than Weir Wood.

Weir Wood Angling re-introducing trout this year and have restored this once famous fishery. The 280 acre lake of purely naturally fed water, with a maximum depth of 39ft is the perfect habitat for the fly-life that ensures good fishing for both Browns and Rainbows.

We restrict the angling method to fly only from opening day March 15th until June 15th but when conditions get more difficult with the fly, we invite you to try other methods.

We offer both bank and boat fishing in our brand new fleet of Pioneer boats with outboards and float-tubing by arrangement, but we only put the boats or float-tubes out when there is little or no sailing and so you should never have a day spoiled. Please see our Diary for details and Permits.
