MICHAEL EVANS AT WEIR WOOD

I have been a professional game angling instructor for over 20 years now (Yes, yes, I know it shows!) at my farm at Cowden on the Kent/Sussex borders. Two years ago the opportunity arose to aquire Weir Wood which is only 15 minutes down the road and with the help of my long time friend and fishing companion Chris Johnson we aquired a 99 year lease from Southern Water. 

In the spring of  2010 with the help of another local fishing instructor, Mark Carr-Brown, we re-opened the lake for trout fishing (as well as continuing the coarse fishing) and opened a shop  and cafe in the newly refurbished fishing Lodge, but sadly not long after, Mark had to step down due to ill health and in July 2011 the business of Weir Wood Angling was taken over my Mike and Debbie Smith.
 
Mike and Debbie have over 10 years of fishery management behind them and are looking to build the reputation  of Weir Wood both as a premier trout fly fishery and as a major coarse venue. 

As landlords Chris and I are still actively involved in all the activities at Weir Wood and we both usually manage to get down to the lake at least a couple of times a week when we in the country. My arrowhead tackle is all available to try and buy in Mike's shop and the fishing just gets better and better so I do hope you will come down and have a cast soon.
