Coarse Fishing Tuition and Courses

From July to February Weir Wood Angling offer a variety of fishing courses and tuition options.

Group days and competitions.
Coarse fishing days can be arranged for groups as small as 2 or 3 right up to 100+ people. Fishing is fun, un-demanding and a great day out, excellent for networking or reward and much more controlled than say a day at the races. No experience needed, we provide everything individually tailored to your requirements. Please ring to discuss your day and get a quotation.

Introduction to coarse fishing for adults (1hrs one to one tuition then fish for the day) £60.
Includes instruction, fishing permit, tackle and bait. Designed for novices or anyone who has never had any formal tuition, we cover safety, setting up the tackle, casting skills and tactics and give essential grounding on which further skills can be developed. 

Guided fishing
Charged at the individual guide’s day rate quoted. Fishing permit and or boat hire not included. Guides are generally excellent fishers but they are not, unless stated, qualified instructors. Their skill is to know where the fish are and what are the best tactics are for the conditions.
 

Junior Courses
For Mums or Dads or carers wanting to introduce the kids to fishing. We give you an hour or so of tuition in the basic skills such as safety, setting up the tackle, use of baits etc then you take them fishing. £25 for one adult with up to 2 kids, includes hire of tackle, bait and instruction.

How old? A lot of parents ask “At what age should they start fishing?” It does depend on the child, but we suggest for coarse fishing 6 or over taking into account their general strength, ability to concentrate and enthusiasm.
